PORTFOLIO
The Walt Disney Company
I had the honor and privilege of working for the Walt Disney Company for nearly a decade, with the majority of my tenure spent with Premium Services leading Member Communication for Golden Oak at Walt Disney World Resort and Club 33 at Walt Disney World Resort. Below are a few highlights of my work there (including graphic design, and writing).
Newsletter & email campaign design and copywriting for affluent Club Member audiences
Eyes & Ears
I did quite a bit of ghost writing for Eyes & Ears and Disney Parks Blog during my career with Disney, but I happened to find this cherished relic from 2012, where you can see my byline featured from an Eyes & Ears issue that year when I was an intern! So fun :) Though my writing has matured since then, this was fun to look back on!

Logo Design
Though not a professional illustrator by trade, I am very proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite and designed the following logos.
Professional Photography
I have a personal passion for photography and often enjoyed bringing those professional-level skills and equipment to my work at Disney! Photography in this capacity often included merchandise photography for Club 33 and Golden Oak, as well as food and beverage photography to be used to promote new menu items at the Golden Oak Food and Beverage locations and Club 33 Lounges.

‘Esplanade Living’ Magazine
Currently reaching an audience of over 12,000 Members
“Esplanade Living” is our national brand magazine, built on the belief that storytelling is the most powerful way to capture the spirit of our communities. Each issue weaves together the real moments, voices, and experiences that define life for Members within an Esplanade community.
From wellness journeys and culinary inspiration to meaningful milestones and everyday memories, every story is chosen with intention. As Creative Director of this project, I author articles, and also partner closely with our design vendor and contributors to shape these narratives into a publication that feels warm, human, and deeply reflective of the Esplanade lifestyle.

Whether it’s a friendly gathering or a little healthy competition, the sports courts are a favorite for outdoor recreation. With a wide array of opportunities to enjoy including bocce, tennis, and pickleball, members can engage in monthly clinics with private instructors or participate in numerous events and philanthropic opportunities, all in a fun and engaging atmosphere. The courts are designed to accommodate every skill level, from seasoned players to those simply looking to enjoy a friendly, social game to stay active.
Pickleball—Play, Engage, Connect
Pickleball has skyrocketed in popularity over the last few years, and for good reason. It’s not only easy to learn and encourages social interaction but it also allows you to work on your balance, agility, and hand-eye coordination without putting excessive strain on your body.
As Crystal Steere, Esplanade’s National Manager of Spa, Wellness, & Sports Courts, says, “If someone tells me they don’t play pickleball, I always like to jokingly say, ‘The bug must not have bitten you yet.’ Pickleball is a sport that truly reaches all ages. It’s an unbelievably fun game that fuses deep court tennis, table tennis, and badminton, creating a highly engaging, low-impact activity that is accessible to everyone. It’s a great way to enjoy social engagement on the courts with fellow sports enthusiasts and friends, all while improving your cardiovascular health.”
Crystal continues, “We also do a lot of cross-promoting with our fitness programming where individuals can work on their agility and footwork but [we] also [work] to help prevent, or at least educate our members on, potential injuries within pickleball. Although it’s a low-impact sport, we want our members to enjoy it in the safest way possible.” Esplanade also has professional instructors on hand to help with program lessons and clinics, allowing members the opportunity to work one-on-one with an instructor or in a small group or semi-private session to refine their skills. Weekly clinics are also available, including the “FUNdamentals of Pickleball,” where members can learn the foundations of play or, for the more competitive individuals, ladder play, round robins, intraclub play, and county league play.
Tennis
Select Esplanade communities feature beautifully maintained tennis courts, perfect for players of all skill levels. In some communities, there’s enough interest and range of skill to break players into two rankings: beginner-intermediate and intermediate plus-advanced. This allows members to get active and social while enjoying a challenging, competitive game tailored to their skill set. And, of course, there’s always the option of taking private lessons if you’re just looking to improve.
Sport Programming—Inspired Play & Anchor Events
With health and wellness at the core of the Esplanade lifestyle, fostering an active and engaged environment within the community is a focused priority. Each community curates a variety of sports courts programming, including monthly mixers with fun themes like Are You Feeling Lucky? (March) or For the Love of Tennis (February); spring socials; and fall tournaments each year. Crystal explains, “Our spring pickleball social is called Let’s Glow, and it’s an electric evening of glow-in-the-dark fun on the courts. We have an MC and DJ, fog machines and glow-in-the-dark pickleballs, and we encourage all the members to wear glow-in-the-dark clothing. It’s hard to fully describe the experience in words, but think high-energy, bright colors, and an electric vibe.”
She adds, “October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and one of our favorite philanthropic events is Pickled Pink, where we partner with local breast cancer awareness organizations with all the proceeds from the day going back to support breast cancer survivors. It’s an extremely special day where our members wear pink and rally to show support. The event is not only a great way for us to celebrate the spirit of pickleball but also give back and reach those affected within our community in a meaningful way.”
It’s Always Game Time At The Sport Courts!
Ultimately, whether you’re a seasoned player or just stepping onto the courts for the first time, Esplanade offers a vibrant, welcoming environment where sports and community connections come together. With a wide range of activities—from casual games to competitive leagues to anchor events that foster both fun and philanthropy—there’s something for everyone. The courts at Esplanade aren’t just about staying active. They’re about building connections, learning new sports, and being part of something bigger.
So, grab your paddle or racquet and join the action. It’s always game time on the courts!

In everyday life, taking time for relaxation can be a transformative experience that rejuvenates the soul and revitalizes the body. Imagine stepping into a serene oasis where the soothing scents of essential oils fill the air and the gentle touch of skilled hands melts away tension and stress. Spa treatments create a sanctuary where you can escape the demands of the outside world, allowing your mind to unwind. By prioritizing self-care, you nurture a harmonious balance between body and mind, fostering a sense of peace and happiness that permeates every aspect of life. Embracing these moments of tranquility not only enriches your personal well-being but also empowers you to navigate your day with renewed energy and positivity.
The Evolution Of Esplanade’s Spa Program
“Spa is a part of our DNA at Esplanade,” says Crystal Steere, National Manager of Spa, Wellness, & Sports Courts. “It’s integral to our wellness programming, playing a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents.” When Crystal first joined the Esplanade team, she brought a unique perspective from her experience as a spa consultant and hotelier. “We found there was an obvious discrepancy between what we could offer at our single-room spas versus at our larger-scale, multi-room facilities,” says Crystal. “As a part of our brand, we wanted to create a universal program for all Esplanades, regardless of the number of homes within a community.”
Top-Tier Treatments
From manicures, pedicures, and facials to hair and makeup styling, skin and body care, and massage, the endless services at the Spa at Esplanade cater to every aspect of personal wellness, offering an indulgent experience designed to rejuvenate both body and mind. “The expansion of our spa menu means we can offer full bodywork and skincare therapies,” mentions Crystal. “We’re also starting to incorporate shower facilities into the actual therapy rooms. Once full body treatments are complete, the client can simply walk over and indulge in a beautiful rainfall shower.”
Beyond this, the Spa at Esplanade has also partnered with globally recognized skincare brands Circadia™ and HydroPeptide™ to provide only the finest quality products. “Our residents are typically well-traveled,” says Crystal, “so working with products that have global recognition and the integrity, science, and longevity behind them was important
to us.” She continues, “Some of our multi-room spas even have a HydraFacial™ machine.” If you’ve never had the chance to experience a HydraFacial™, it’s one of the best ways to refine and smooth your skin thanks to its patented technology that cleanses, extracts, and hydrates, leaving you with a radiant, gratifying glow!
Signature Services And Scents
Speaking of signature services, a featured offering is the artisan massage. If you indulge in this treatment, you have the opportunity to create a completely customized experience. Crystal explains. “We wanted to make it so our residents could tailor their treatment to their needs, based on a series of available customization options including deep pressure, aromatherapy, salt scrubs, and warm stones.”
In addition to specialized treatments like the HydraFacial™ and artisan massage, another feature that is unique to the Spa at Esplanade is its signature scent. “They say that smell has the strongest sensory connection to memory, and we all know that scents can bring you back to a long-forgotten time. Through the creation of our custom coconut, lime, and verbena scent, we set out to develop an all-inclusive, gender-neutral aroma, reminiscent of a refreshing beach or coastal mountainscape.”
Not to mention, Esplanade members and guests can continue their spa experience at home with a signature line of bath, body, and home care products, which includes a variety of lotions, creams, scrubs, serums, diffuser oil, candles, soaps, and more.
Ultimately, the Spa at Esplanade is more than just a place for pampering. It’s a sanctuary that seamlessly blends luxury with wellness, creating a holistic experience for all. Every aspect of the spa—from its top-tier treatments to its signature scent—is designed to elevate the quality of life within the Esplanade community. So, as you step out of the spa and back into your daily routine, remember that the essence of Esplanade’s commitment to wellness is always within reach, waiting to be revisited whenever you need to recharge. Whether at the spa or in the comfort of your home, the Spa at Esplanade ensures that every day holds the promise of unparalleled relaxation whenever you desire.

An Interconnected Community
Esplanade communities are meticulously designed with a deep understanding of the importance of fostering social connections. Imagine convening with neighbors at the luxurious pool areas, where cabanas and lounge spaces create the perfect environment for relaxed conversations and shared laughter. Enjoy the beautifully landscaped outdoor gathering spaces perfect for alfresco dining, evening bocce ball matches, or casual get-togethers under the stars.
For culinary enthusiasts, the sense of community is further enriched through cooking classes, private gatherings, interactive workshops and wine and beer tastings, all designed to encourage attendees to bond over their love of food and cooking.
Meanwhile, the SIP Wine Club offers curated tastings and exclusive events, bringing wine lovers together.
Ultimately, no matter what your interests are, Esplanade communities cultivate an atmosphere where friendships flourish, and every experience enriches your sense of belonging.
Engaging Lifestyle Programming
Beyond the inviting gathering spaces, the heart of Esplanade’s commitment to community-building lies within its lifestyle programming, which encourages both individual wellness and meaningful interactions. Whether it’s joining fitness group training sessions, friendly pickleball tournaments, or lively tennis and golf matches, there are endless opportunities to connect through shared interests and activities. Esplanade also offers a variety of clubs, from creative arts and culinary groups to outdoor recreation like hiking and kayaking, each fostering new friendships and personal growth.
Signature Events, hosted throughout the year, bring an added layer of excitement to the community, with themed celebrations and large gatherings. For those with a passion for travel, group outings and curated excursions offer the opportunity to explore new places and enjoy shared adventures together. Even pet lovers can find a community here, with pet-friendly activities, dog parks, and services that ensure every member of the family, including the furry ones, feels at home.
For those looking for time to recharge on their own, Esplanade's spa experiences provide peaceful retreats for relaxation. If social interaction is where you find emotional restoration, Esplanade's wellness programming also features group activities that inspire shared experiences, whether it’s a yoga class at sunrise or a guided nature walk. These activities and events ensure that everyone has the opportunity to connect with others who share similar interests, further strengthening the bonds within the community.
The Power Of Connection
Creating opportunities for genuine connections and being a part of a community that actively encourages social interaction is crucial for emotional well-being, individual development, and overall happiness. Such connections offer more than just companionship; they provide a supportive network that bolsters mental health, nurtures personal growth, and enhances life satisfaction. At Esplanade, the focus on building meaningful relationships ensures that everyone benefits from a robust support system, enriching their lives with camaraderie and friendship.

this refreshing Peruvian dish alongside the perfect accompaniment of a classic Pisco Sour cocktail. Patrick guided the participants through the intricacies of balancing flavors and selecting quality ingredients.
Here are a few other event highlights:
Grillin’ and Chillin’, which was dedicated to the art of outdoor cooking. Participants explored various grilling techniques and observed a demonstration on how to prepare the perfect steak with tips on proper storage for proteins prior to use. Attendees elevated their mixology skills and created perfect beverage pairings for their summertime meals with a presentation on mixing up a Smoked Old Fashioned (Page 28) and delicious Sangria.

These additions will encourage culinary practices that are both delicious and responsible and reflect Esplanade’s commitment not only to providing exceptional culinary experiences but also to promoting environmental stewardship.
