Hi there, I’m Katelynn!

I’m an Orlando-based creative, former Disney Cast Member and cat mom to Lincoln and Harper. My world is a mix of writing, photography, on-camera adventures and whatever creative idea I’ve decided to try next. I’m happiest when I have something to make, somewhere new to explore or a little everyday moment worth capturing. I’m so glad you found your way here!

A little Disney magic

I spent nearly a decade at Disney, and it’s a special part of my story. I got to write for the Disney Parks Blog and Eyes & Ears, work with brands like Disney Cruise Line and Adventures by Disney, and collaborate with so many talented people. There were plenty of memorable projects along the way, but what I carry with me most is a love of storytelling and an appreciation for the little details that make something feel special.

Usually making something

My creativity has never stayed in one lane. Sometimes it’s a piece of writing or a website. Sometimes it’s a photo, a video or an afternoon spent figuring out how to display my latest collectibles. I love having an idea and seeing where it goes, especially when I get to make something that feels personal, playful and a little unexpected.

My cozy life at home

At home, I share life with my boyfriend, Oscar, and our two cats, Lincoln and Harper. Lincoln is my orange boy, and Harper is my tortoiseshell girl. If you’ve spent any time on my social channels, you’ve probably spotted them. They’re a big part of my everyday life and some of my favorite company.

A camera and somewhere new

Photography has been part of my life for more than 10 years, and I still love having a camera in my hands. Travel gives me even more reasons to pick it up. A recent adventure took me through Iceland and Sweden, with plenty to photograph along the way. I love coming home with images that bring me right back to how a place felt.

A little whimsy, every day

I love adding a little whimsy to everyday life, and my growing Labubu collection is proof of that. There’s something really sweet about embracing your inner child and letting yourself enjoy things just because they make you happy. I share those little joys in hopes of inspiring other people to do the same. Life’s too short to skip the fun.

My next chapter

After years in corporate communications and marketing, I decided to give myself room to build something of my own. These days, that means freelance projects, content creation, film and commercial work, and discovering how all those interests fit together. I’m still figuring out parts of it as I go, but I’m enjoying making space for work and a life that feel more like me.

from the heart

Rediscovering my creative identity through performance

Creativity has always driven me. Fully embraced and free in my childhood. Unfortunately that once unfiltered, free spiritedness became shackled by life. Shackled by fear of the unknown, fear of judgment by others, fear of embarrassment.

As I aged into teen years and young adulthood, I would exhaust all this mental emotional energy on desperately trying to prevent any of those things from happening that, in turn, it clogged up any space for true growth, expansion & personal creative freedom.

I have always been a spiritual person, believing in a higher purpose and power, but never really giving it a label. We are guided to things that we are meant to do and see and experience. People enter our lives and things occur at the exact moment we need to learn or expand into a new iteration of ourselves.

Acting for me, has always been that one thing in my mind that kept presenting itself. An opportunity quietly knocking, asking to be seen, but a door I made every excuse not to open. Because of all those limiting beliefs that tethered me to a lesser version of myself, I kept that door closed, but my ear was always pressed up against it to hear if the little voice was still there… she always was. It came through in different ways. Sometimes it was a voice in my own head, sometimes through the voices of others, sometimes in a quote or a song or a book.

Recently, after dealing with challenging personal life circumstances, I was forced to stop and reflect on my life and was required to be present with myself more times than I ever had before. During this time, I felt the little voice behind the door, gained some courage herself, and she got louder. The whisper turned into a shout, and I started to take action on what it was telling me. I kept taking steps despite all the usual fears that would’ve otherwise tethered me. This step towards acting is an answered promise to my younger self, my past self, that I am going to be brave and listen to the voice that was always calling out to me. It’s a promise to myself that I’m going to listen to my intuition and do the hard thing and not choose complacency or fear, it’s an opportunity to step into my creative power in a way I never have before. I am thankful for all the years of fear because without it I wouldn’t be where I am seated right now.

I’m so happy to be able to tell my younger self that I listened to her. I finally opened the door. I hope she’s proud of me too.
